You’re Invited! … Red Dress Run

I want to personally invite you all to the 8th Annual Red Dress Run: Friday, December 14, 2012, at 7:00 from Jack & Adam’s Bikes on Barton Springs and S. Lamar Blvd.

As Austinites you know that ,  The Decker Challenge.  The Hill of Life.  The Hike and Bike Trail.  You can’t honestly call yourself an Austin runner until you’ve done all of these things at least once, and that includes the Austin Duathletes’ annual Red Dress Run, aka “The Twelve Bars of Christmas!”

There are lots of pub runs around Austin, Texas, these days, but it was the Austin Duathletes, back in 2005, who first popularized them and made them regular events here in the ATX.  From the first time, 8 years ago, that 50 women AND men donned red dresses and ran through downtown, and every year  until now, the RDR, also known as the Twelve Bars of Christmas, has been the AD’s signature event, growing to nearly 400 people in 2011.
Some of the bars along the route will be donating a percentage of the proceeds from this event to the Ronald McDonald House, the AD’s official charity.  You can also donate!  Anyone who donates to the Ronald McDonald House will receive an official Red Dress Run keychain bottle opener.  Don’t laugh.  These will be highly coveted throughout 2013!  Donate just $5 to help underprivileged sick children, and you’ll receive this item, which will be a badge of honor for anyone who carries it.

Some of the bars we’ll hit include: Gibson, Chugging Monkey, Molotov, Darwin’s, Betsy’s, and 7 more!

Wear a red dress, bring your ID, and make arrangements to get home safe!  Details are below:
